The way you pay your Regional Council rates is changing for the 2022–23 rates year. However you will continue to pay your 2021-22 Regional Council rates to your city or district council as usual.
Paying your 2021-22 rates
For the 2021-22 rates year, the region's city and district councils will continue to collect the Regional Council rates on our behalf.

Bay of Plenty Regional Council collects and administers rates for:
- Minor Rivers and Drainage Schemes targeted rates.
- Clean-heat conversion targeted rates.

Changes for next year's (2022-23) rates
The way you pay your Regional Council rates is changing for the rates year 2022–23. In the past, your city of district council collected your Bay of Plenty Regional Council rates. For the 2022–23 rates year, you’ll pay your rates directly to us.
We'll send you more information about this in your final rates invoice for 2021-22, and this website will be updated with all the information you'll need closer to the time. We'll be sending out one invoice, in August and September, with payment due by 20 October 2022.
You will be able to start paying your 2022-23 rates from August and online and in person payment options will be open at this time.
