The He Ara Taituarā Fund supports initiatives that build tangata whenua capability and capacity to participate in Council decision-making processes and operations.
The He Ara Taituarā Fund was established as part of the Long Term Plan 2024-2034 and is designed to support a broad range of medium to large capacity and capability initiatives/projects.
Council is committed to enhancing Māori capacity and capability in its decision-making processes and operations. This commitment is reflected in Council’s community outcome, Te Ara Poutama – The Pursuit of Excellence. The He Ara Taituarā Fund supports Council to deliver on the Te Ara Poutama goals.
He Ara Taituarā Fund – Contestable Fund for medium to large scale projects
- Applications for this period have now closed.
- Total fund of $150,000 (contestable) for successful projects
- Funding period: 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026
The fund is available to iwi, hapū and Māori land trusts with land interests within the Bay of Plenty Regional Council boundaries.
