Committee details
The Bay of Plenty Mayoral Forum is guided by the Triennial Agreement, which is entered into after each local government election as a requirement under Section 15 of the Local Government Act 2002.
Enabling democratic local decision-making and action by, and on behalf of, Bay of Plenty communities.
Civil Defence Emergency Management Group
The Civil Defence Emergency Management Group is a joint committee that is required under the Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002
Eastern Bay of Plenty Joint Committee
A collaboration between Bay of Plenty Regional Council, Kawerau District Council, Ōpōtiki District Council and Whakatāne District Council for responding to and managing a range of Eastern Bay of Plenty issues.
On 25 March 2020 an Emergency Committee was established to allow swift decision making and delegated responsibility in response to extraordinary times.
Executive Employment Committee
This committee acts for and advises Council on matters relating to the employment of the Council's Chief Executive Officer.
Komiti Māori works to implement and monitor Council’s legislative obligations to Māori people to ensure and facilitate Māori input into community outcomes and policy development and implementation.
Monitoring and Operations Committee
Oversees and monitors the implementation of policies and strategies, promoting effective delivery and coordination between policy and implementation.
Ohiwa Harbour Implementation Forum
This committee oversees and monitors the implementation of the Ōhiwa Harbour Strategy.
Plan Change 13 (Air Quality) Appeals Subcommittee
The Plan Change 13 (Air Quality) Appeals Subcommittee was established by the Regional Direction and Delivery Committee on 25 June 2019 for the purpose of guiding the resolution of any Environment Court appeals on Proposed Plan Change 13 to the Regional Natural Resources Plan.
The Public Transport Committee implements and monitors public transport strategy and policy.
The purpose of the Forum is the protection and enhancement of the environmental, cultural, and spiritual health and wellbeing of the Rangitāiki River and its resources for the benefit of present and future generations.
Region-wide Water Quantity - Proposed Plan Change 9 Appeals Subcommittee
The subcommittee was established to guide the resolution of Environment Court appeals on the Region-wide Water Quantity - Proposed Plan Change 9.
Regional Navigation Safety Bylaws Review Committee
This Committee was established by council to oversee the Bay of Plenty Regional Navigation Safety Bylaws Review.
The Regional Transport Committee is responsible for preparing the Regional Land Transport Plan, or any significant variation to it.
The Risk and Assurance Committee reviews and monitors audit and risk frameworks and receives reports on non-compliance matters.
Rotorua Te Arawa Lakes Strategy Group
The Rotorua Te Arawa Lakes Strategy Group is the overarching management group made up of representatives from Bay of Plenty Regional Council, Te Arawa Lakes Trust and Rotorua District Council.
The SmartGrowth Implementation Committee (SGIC) is a governance group responsible for prioritising, reviewing and monitoring the implementation of the SmartGrowth Strategy 2051.
Informs the strategic direction for the Council and implement through approved planning and policy frameworks.
