Our Regional Planning activity provides us with planning and policy advice and sets up our strategic direction. It includes development of strategies, policies and plans to identify how the natural and physical resources in the region are to be managed.



Bylaws exist to protect, promote and maintain public health and safety and are created in response to the needs and concerns of our community.

These include planning documents created under the Resource Management Act 1991 such as the Regional Natural Resources Plan and under the Biosecurity Act 1993 the Local Government Act 2002, and various action plans.
