Bay of Plenty Regional Council electors have the right to demand a poll on the electoral system to be used at the next two triennial general elections (2028 and 2031).

An extraordinary Public Excluded meeting of the Executive Employment Committee will be held at 9.30am on Wednesday 9 September 2026.

The Regional Public Transport Plan (RPTP) Hearings tentatively scheduled 19th, 20th and 21st August have been postponed. There will be notification when a new date has been confirmed.

Following changes introduced through the Regulatory Systems (Internal Affairs) Amendment Act 2026, Bay of Plenty Regional Council will no longer publish notices of Council, Committee and Co Governance meetings in local newspapers.

The nomination period to fill the extraordinary vacancy for the Eastern Bay of Plenty General Constituency of the Bay of Plenty Regional Council has now closed. 

Rotorua Te Arawa Lakes Strategy Group that was scheduled to meet on Thursday 9 July in Rotorua has been cancelled to be rescheduled for a later date.

The Bay of Plenty Regional Council has prepared the DRAFT Bay of Plenty Regional Public Transport Plan 2026-2036 for public submissions.
