The Regional Public Transport Plan (RPTP) Hearings that were tentatively scheduled to meet on Wednesday 19th August, Thursday 20th August and Friday 21st August at Venue to be confirmed have been postponed. There will be notification when a new date has been confirmed.
Due to the unprecedented number of submissions received to the draft 2026-2036 Regional Public Transport Plan (RPTP), and to allow staff time to process these – the original Hearings dates set for 19-21 August will now be deferred to a future date.
We will work closely with the Hearings Panel to identify suitable alternative dates for the RPTP Hearings and Deliberations before the end of the year and communicate the new dates to submitters as soon as they are set.
If you made a submission to the RPTP and would now like to speak to your submission once the new dates are locked in, please contact the transport team at: rptp@boprc.govt.nz to reserve a slot in the hearings schedule. Please also note that Hearings will still be held across Tauranga, Rotorua and Whakatāne with the option to present online.
All meetings of Council and its committees are open to the public except where the provisions of Section 48 of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 apply.
