Onekawa Te Mawhai Regional Park is a significant cultural and archaeological landscape. Learn more.


Walk the loop track and experience a peaceful native bush setting with beautiful pohutukawa covered cliffs. Emerge at Onekawa pa site and walk through the grassland returning to the back to the carpark via Bryans Beach.

Getting there

Onekawa Te Mawhai is located in the Eastern Bay of Plenty at the Ohiwa Harbour headland, click here for more information on how to get to there.

Opening hours

6.30am - 7.00pm (winter) 6.30am - 9.00pm (summer).

The gate to the carpark is locked overnight.
