Receive your rates invoices by email

Terms and conditions 

1. This authorisation form needs to be submitted by one of the current ratepayers as listed on the rates invoice.
2. Please advise Bay of Plenty Regional Council of any change/cancellation of the email address and/or sale of the property. It is your responsibility to keep the email address current.
3. One rates invoice per property will be issued to the email address provided.
4. The emailing of the rates assessment and rates invoice will be initiated for the next billing period.
5. Bay of Plenty Regional Council is not responsible for rates assessments, rates invoices, or penalty notices that cannot be delivered because of an incorrect or invalid email address or an error in transmission.
6. If the email is unable to be sent, then a hard copy will be mailed to the last known postal address of a ratepayer as notified to Bay of Plenty Regional Council or to the last known business or residential address of a ratepayer.
7. Email authorisation may be cancelled at any time at the discretion of Bay of Plenty Regional Council.
8. Personal information collected by Bay of Plenty Regional Council from this authorisation will be held in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 and our privacy statement.
9. This authorisation covers rates assessments, rates invoices, penalty notices, and inserts. We may also use your contact details to inform you of Bay of Plenty Regional Council activities and services that may affect you. If you do not want your email address and/or phone number used for this purpose please contact us. We will not use your email address or phone number for general marketing. 
10. Your rates assessment, rates invoice or penalty notice will be treated as having been received by you in accordance with section 136 of the Local Government (Rating) Act.
11. You acknowledge that nothing in these terms and conditions or the email authorisation affects your liability as a ratepayer to pay rates and penalties under the Local Government (Rating) Act 2002.
