Have your say on Draft On-Site Effluent Change
Bay of Plenty Regional Council invites comments on draft changes to rules on on-site effluent treatment systems.
A draft plan change to the Regional Natural Resources Plan has been prepared, which includes policies and rules to manage the safe treatment and disposal of domestic wastewater. The plan change covers septic tanks, greywater, composting toilets and aerated wastewater systems. It does not affect dairy shed discharges, or municipal sewerage discharges.
Comments on the draft plan change will be used to develop a proposed plan change under the Resource Management Act 1991, which is expected to be notified for formal submissions in 2019. The plan change will replace the current Operative On-Site Effluent Treatment Regional Plan and will be incorporated into the Regional Natural Resources Plan.
The draft plan change and supporting documents can be viewed on the Regional Council’s website www.boprc.govt.nz/osetplanchange. and viewed between 8.30 am and 5 pm, Monday to Friday at the Council’s offices at:
