13 December - Toi Moana Bay of Plenty Regional Council’s new Regional Pest Management Plan (RPMP) 2020 - 2030 became fully operative on Tuesday 7th December.

8 December - Bay of Plenty Regional Council staff spent 16 continuous hours punting slowly back and forth across the Kaituna River last week carrying out some critical work.

8 December - Two community led climate change adaptation projects have received funds from Toi Moana Bay of Plenty Regional Council this week to explore the future impact on their community and begin planning.

1 December - Upgrades to cater for lake level management and to accommodate future climate change effects on Lake Ōkāreka in Rotorua has now been completed.

13 December - The University of Waikato with financial support from Toi Moana Bay of Plenty Regional Council has appointed Dr Deniz Özkundakci to the position of Toihuarewa – Waimāori Bay of Plenty Regional Council Chair in Lake and Fresh Water Science.

22 December - The 775,000 native trees and shrubs planted by Regional Council and volunteers in the past financial year are expected to remove 307,515 tonnes of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere over the next 80 years.
