Region-wide Water Quantity Plan Change - Plan Change 9

Plan Change 9 was publicly notified in October 2016 as the first step in a two-stage approach to improving the rules for water quality and quantity management in the Bay of Plenty.

It was designed as an interim measure that would ‘hold the line’ on water quantity management, and set the scene for further locally-specific plan changes that would more fully implement the National Policy Statement for Freshwater Management 2014.

On 18 February 2020, Bay of Plenty Regional Council’s Strategy and Policy Committee decided to withdraw Plan Change 9.

This means that Plan Change 9 no longer has any legal effect.
