Day Saver Pass now available at Rotorua i-Site ahead of the long weekend

Thursday, 20 October 2016 12:00 p.m.

A new partnership between Bay of Plenty Regional Council and the Rotorua i-Site will see concession day fare passes on Cityride buses available for purchase through local i-Site for the first time.

Starting from tomorrow and ahead of Labour Weekend - Friday 21 October - the Day-Saver Pass can be purchased from Rotorua i-Sites by visitors and locals for just $8.20.

“There are a lot of visitors who want to get around Rotorua to see local attractions on the bus,” says Rotorua i-Site operations manager Kyle Kydd.

“The Cityride buses travel all around the city and to most of our major attractions particularly on Route 1 which goes to Skyline Skyride, Rainbow Fairy Springs, OGO and Agroventures,

“With plenty of visitors coming into town for the long weekend, the bus is a good way for them to get around Rotorua without the hassles of driving and parking,” says Mr Kydd.

Bay of Plenty Regional Council (BOPRC) who fund the Cityride bus service says it makes sense to have Rotorua i-Site sell the Day Saver pass with around one million visitors  through their sites annually, and a significant number of these visitors wanting to buy bus concession day passes.

“The i-Site is a one-stop shop for accessing great travel and transport deals, so it makes sense to make the Day Saver pass available through them,” says BOPRC Senior Transport Operations Officer, Stella Norrris.

The Day Saver pass is valid for the day of purchase and entitles the user to travel on all Cityride Bus routes.

Mr Kydd says locals and travellers can purchase a Day Saver pass by visiting either their Fenton Street or Redwoods i-Site; or by going to www.rotoruanz.com/visit/travel-kit/i-site/ for more information.
