Scientist to join Kope Canal remediation project

Friday, 31 July 2015 12:00 a.m.

A geo-environmental scientist has been appointed for the Kopeopeo Canal Remediation project.

Matt James’ role with the project will be as Field Observer, supporting Independent Monitor Andrew Kohlrusch, who started in May.
Matt has experience in agricultural contamination, near-surface geophysics, shallow groundwater monitoring, environmental due diligence, contaminated land and groundwater remediation and environmental detailed and preliminary site investigations.
His background in monitoring, reporting, and field experience will be vital for this project.
Matt is also well versed in National Environmental Standards for assessing and managing contaminated sites in New Zealand.
“We’re pleased to welcome Matt to the team,” project manager Brendon Love says.
“He brings a wealth of experience to the role and complements the expertise of people already in key positions within the project. Matt will play an integral part in the project team.”
