Tauranga Eastern Link

The Tauranga Eastern Link will be a 23km four lane highway, starting at Te Maunga in Tauranga, and finishing at the existing junction of State Highways 2 and State Highway 33, near Paengaroa.

A highway recognised by the government as a road of national significance, the Tauranga Eastern Link will be the Bay of Plenty's largest roading project and a key strategic transport corridor for the region.

Construction has started and the road is expected to be open to traffic in 2016.
