Solution to timetable issues soon

A solution to timetable issues on some of Tauranga's Bay Hopper bus routes should be in place by the end of the month.
Following timetable changes last month, routes 1 and 55 have been experiencing delays with their service.
Bay of Plenty Regional Council Transport Policy Manager Garry Maloney said staff had been working hard to come up with a solution to the problems.
"Unfortunately the changes that we made to improve the efficiency of the service have not worked as we had expected," Mr Maloney said. "We realise this has caused people problems with getting to their destinations on time, which we apologise for."
Mr Maloney said they were now finalising an improved timetable for the routes which should alleviate many of the delays.
"We will be working through the logistics of these changes during the next three weeks and hope to have them in place by the beginning of April," Mr Maloney said. "Again, we apologise to anyone who has been inconvenienced by the changes to the timetable and hope to have the service up and running to a much improved timetable soon."
Mr Maloney said updates about the timetable changes will be available in the near future on the buses and on the Baybus website www.baybus.co.nz, or by calling 0800 4 BAY BUS.
