Winner of our flood photo competition

Thursday, 22 May 2014 10:41 a.m.

Congratulations to the winner of our flood photos competition, Natasha Priestley from Rotoma.

Thanks also to everyone who sent in photos from around the Bay of Plenty.

Council is leading a region-wide flood risk management project that builds collaboration between local authorities. The information from these photos will add to detailed flood modelling, weather pattern data, river level data and other information as part of this flood management project. Taken together, all this information helps us plan our future works and flood management projects to prepare even better for the next event.

You may have missed the opportunity to win a weather station, but you can still add your photos to the shared Council library. Your photos or video clips can be sent in to us any time. Please make sure you include the date, time and location of the photo (as specific as possible) and be sent to or dropped off or posted to Council offices.

Please note that the photos will be used by the Regional Council and other local authorities to help flood planning activities. By sending in your photos, Council will assume that you are happy to have them used in this way.
