Smart Water Use Ideas Exchange

There are many benefits to using water efficiently and reducing water loss in farming operations.

Smart water use can cut effluent volumes, lower power costs and reduce work time.

If animal health remedies are delivered by an in-line dispenser, any leaks out on the farm mean remedies won't reach stock in the right dose at the right time. This will be a cost in lost remedies and ultimately to the health and performance of stock. Farms paying for water by volume will have a further, strong incentive to conserve.

DairyNZ's Smart Water Use on Dairy Farms programme provides farmers with tools and resources to help manage their water supply effectively and capture these benefits.
