Draft Onekawa Te Mawhai Park Management Plan

Public submissions on the Draft Onekawa Te Mawhai Regional Park Management Plan are now closed.

The Plan sets out how the Park will be managed over the next 10 years. It will guide the day-to-day and long-term management of the Park and sets a context for the future use and conservation of its natural heritage and cultural resources.

Key directions in the Draft Park Management Plan are to:

  • Look after archaeological and cultural heritage sites, whilst ensuring the continuing public enjoyment of the Park
  • Continue to operate the Park as a farm
  • Retain the ridgelines, hilltops and slopes in open grassland.
  • Use native and non-native planting in gullies and to define the lower edges of the Park.
