New air quality rule for Rotorua

Did you know that a new rule prohibiting the sale of properties with solid fuel burners that do not meet clean air standards is now being enforced? 

The point of sale rule will help clean up Rotorua's air. 

Hornwort found in Lake Ōkāreka

If you've been out enjoying Lake Okareka, please check and thoroughly clean your watercraft when leaving the lake.

An infestation of the aquatic pest plant - hornwort - has been found in several places around the lake and could easily be transferred to other lakes.
